Persistence - the act of persisting or continuing on towards an end
Does persistence pay off? Possibly but that is dependent upon what is meant by your 'pay off'.
As begin to reflect on the last year of professional career, I find myself viewing a roller coaster of a trend line. But isn't that typical? I mean...what would normal look like? What is the baseline for normal?
I think back to the beginning of the year and reviewing my goals and those tasks set before me thinking....I will lose my mind this year. Well, I didn't lose my mind but it has definitely grown. I've achieved many things in my career and on top of that, also began my MBA program. Some might think that I'm nuts for tacking so much but persistence is what got me through.
Life isn't easy. No one said it would be. But if you are persistent and focused and now what end result you want to achieve, you will achieve it. Obstacles will come and obstacles will go, but a continued focus on the end goal will get you there in the end.
Looking forward to next year, I hope I can continue this momentum in my future career endeavours.
I hope persistence finds you.

Needs Drive Behavior
I recently started graduate school pursuing my Masters in Business with an emphasis in Marketing. My first class, Organizational Behavior, has been a great eye opener. This single statement has followed me from day one - 'Needs Drive Behavior'
Give someone what they want/need and you can control their behavior.
Give a dog a treat and they will obey.
Provide an employee incentive for performing a task, the employee will perform.
Employee motivation is a critical component to the success of any organization yet so many companies have little focus on this critical component.
Think about what drives the success of a business --- revenue. How do you generate revenue --- selling a product or service. What do you need to sell a product or service --- clients. What do clients have --- Needs. To support the selling of the product or service, which will result in a client's needs being met, resulting in revenue for a company, resulting in financial gains is 'Satisfied Employees'.
Employees are the foundation and cornerstone to the success of any organization. How about we focus on the people, instead of the money!
